New European Legislation: TPO
Starting September 1, 2025, something important will change in our industry: new European regulations will prohibit the marketing or use of nail products containing TPO in salons. This change is causing many questions and uncertainty among nail technicians. Fortunately, TS Nails is the right place for reliable, safe, and future-proof products.
What does the new TPO legislation entail?
The NVWA (Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) has announced that new legislation prohibits the use and sale of products containing TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide). This applies not only to manufacturers and wholesalers, but also to nail technicians in salons. "Placing on the market" is interpreted broadly, including the use of these products during treatments.
Why this change?
The regulations are intended to ensure the safety of consumers and professionals. TPO is under pressure due to potential health risks. This step will make our industry even safer and more professional.
