Applying the Ombre look

Prepare the natural nail for product application and perform a manicure (for example aEuropean ManicureofTS Cuticle RemoverIf you choose to extend your nails with forms, first build the tip with a clear gel, such as Builder Gel Extra Clear. If you choose to extend with Upperforms, build the tip with it.

  • For the tip, mix Builder Gel Extra Milky White with a few drops of gel polish 148 and a drop of gel polish 080. It's best to do this before starting the prep, so any air bubbles have already escaped before you do this step. Use a mixing palette for this and be careful not to stir too vigorously, but try to mix the gels evenly to prevent bubbles.
  • Build (or apply with Upperform) the tip with the mixture to about halfway down the natural nail plate and cure. Repeat this for all nails.
  • Now make two mixes: Mix the transparent T-Gel with gel polish 112 and 176 and another mix of 061 and 062. If you notice the T-Gel is too runny, you've used too much gel polish.
  • File the built-up tips using the Easy Nails filing technique and clean the nails and remove any dust.
  • Now apply the purple T-Gel mixture to the cuticle and blend it outward towards the free edge. Create a thin but opaque layer with a soft fading effect. Cure for 60 seconds under the UV LED lamp and repeat on all nails.
  • Now apply a thin, even layer of T-Gel Clear over the entire nail, creating a smooth base for the next step. Cure this layer for 30 seconds.
  • Build up the nail further with the denim blue T-Gel mixture and cure it for 60 seconds in the UV LED lamp.
  • After curing, remove the sticky layer from the T-Gel and finish your nails with, for example, the glitter topcoat TS Reflectop for an extra dazzling effect.
